Reviewer: Thomas William The comments keep coming... ...carries on the tradition started by Dick Dale and The Ventures ...good for any extreme activity. Walk, don't run, to the Dirt Surfers. (NOVA Ezine) The Dirt Surfers play straight-ahead, cleanly produced, well executed, instrumental surf music. The music features minor key melodies and atmospheric Farfisa organ. (Listen.com) TWANG! Sometimes you need some surf guitar just to wake you up...this is lively, fun and it's hard to keep your foot from tapping. You gotta love surf music! (Bruce Satinover, ArtistLaunch.com) The Guitars intertwine with a very interesting blend of polychords. I can't for the life of me figure out what the Dirt Kahuna is doing. Internet Drives Surf Rock Band to Sundance Film Festival; Digital Artist Attributes Their Discovery to Web SiteSAN DIEGO, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Internet is providing new opportunities to both artists and the entertainment industry. Citing one example, The Dirt Surfers were recently discovered on a web site by film producers and, as a result, the band will be featured on a soundtrack from a web-based television show which is scheduled to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah later this month. The Dirt Surfers, who are currently riding high on the surf-rock charts at MP3.com attracted the attention of producers from the Atomboy Filmworks web-based show called ``Drive'' with their tongue-in-cheek holiday melody ``I'm So Pissed At Santa.'' The cutting-edge, web-based television show ``Drive'' is produced in monthly installments and is then streamed to an online viewing audience. ``Without MP3.com, our music would never have been noticed by the producers of this film,'' said Doug Cornell, guitarist for The Dirt Surfers. ``We are very excited about this new opportunity and will be seeking other film projects for our melodic instrumental rock music.'' ``More talent seekers are recognizing the benefits of going online to fill their needs,'' said Michael Robertson, chairman and chief executive officer of MP3.com. ``There is amazing talents to be discovered online and we wish The Dirt Surfers the best of luck with their song's debut at the Sundance Film Festival.'' |
